The Mental health and psychosocial well-being of a person can get significantly impacted by the experience of an emergency. Traumatic events such as exposure to violence or disaster, loss of, or separation from family members, and inability to provide for one’s self and family have both immediate and long-term consequences for the people experiencing it. If given the right support, most people will be able to overcome these difficult experiences.

The way aid is carried out is affecting the psychosocial wellbeing of people. Therefore, it’s of most importance that humanitarian action is administrated in the best way possible. This guide provides information on how to plan, create, and coordinate responses to protect and improve the mental health and psychosocial wellbeing of people in an ongoing emergency.
