In Europe, Save the Children works through 13 national members and through their EU Office in Brussels advocating for better policies and practices in the EU institutions and in the Member States.

This document provides comments from Save the Children on the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council amending Regulation (EU) n° 604/2013 as regards the Member State responsible for examining the application for international protection of unaccompanied minors with no family member, sibling or relative legally present in a Member State, COM (2014) 382 final.

The analysis takes into consideration the position of the Council document as well the draft report of MEP Cecilia Wickström currently being discussed by the European Parliament. This document also provides suggestions to be further considered when revising existing implementing measures.
