53rd Session – Sierra Leone. Recommendations to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child under the Optional Protocol on the Sale of Children (OPSC) and the Optional Protocol on Children in Armed Conflict (OPAC)

Child Helpline International recommends that the government of Sierra Leone cooperate with NGOs to establish a free, 24 hour, 3-4 digit helpline that is accessible to children and gives children’s issues priority. If the government of Sierra Leone supports the establishment of this toll free service, a helpline has the potential to answer over 52,000 calls annually with the country’s existing technological infrastructure.
