21st African Union Summit, “Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance”, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 19th–27th May

A report on Save the Children’s activities at the 21st African Union Summit, themed “Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance” which took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 19th – 27th May 2013. The Summit also marked the 50th celebration of the formation of the Organization of African Unity (OAU).  The report covers both key calls and decisions from the Summit as well as Save the Children’s involvement at the event. Specific activities covered in the report are: – Child Rights in Africa in 50 years of the OAU/AU High Level Meeting – Intergenerational Dialogue on Africa 2063 – Securing Africa’s Renaissance: The Role of Africa’s Private sector over the next 50 years – Media activities ahead and during the Summit.
