2025 – 2027 Strategic Goal 5: Strengthened and accountable governance systems, policies and practices that prioritise the rights and well-being of children

Kenya has made significant strides in legislative and policy reform to advance children’s rights including the recent review of the Children Act 2022, effective implementation of the provisions has been a challenge.

Both Kenya and Madagascar have also acceded to a raft of international and regional instruments and national legislation that have mandated the state to take legislative and structural actions to implement and realize children’s rights. However, for both countries implementation of children’s issues is not prioritized.
