Social Behavioral Change Communication for Education: Resources and Messages from Save the Children Rwanda

These are a series of messages and related Social Behavior Change Communications (SBCC) for Education resources that can be used with parents and caregivers to promote their support of children’s learning and wellbeing at home. Save the Children Rwanda through the USAID-funded Mureke Dusome Project and other education projects developed the following resources:

                                                          • Save the Children Rwanda’s Social Behavior Change Communications Approach: This describes how we approached SBCC before and during COVID-19 to engage parents/caregivers to support their children’s learning and wellbeing at home.
                                                          • Several resources listing key messages that were sent to parents over phone (audio and/or SMS messages); others are posters used through project implementation site.
                                                          • Recordings of webinars describing our SBCC for Education approaches and lessons learned
                                                          • A peer educator training toolkit on positive discipline for adults.
                                                            • Some materials are in English and some are in Kinyarwanda.
