About the collection
In 2024, Save the Children conducted Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with climate-affected communities in Sierra Leone, Malawi, and Guatemala. This collection of briefs highlights the compounded impacts of the climate crisis on children through their experiences and perspectives. Their testimonies reveal the growing effects of both sudden- and slow-onset climate events, which disrupt their lives and infringe on their rights. The briefs also capture children’s insights on preparing for and responding to future climate-related disasters, as well as their perspectives on measures to address these impacts. These reports amplify children’s voices on these issues and explore their implications within the context of each country’s climate vulnerability, capacity to invest in resilience, and the extent to which children are prioritised in climate policies and funding.
