About the collection
Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) is one of the best evidenced anti-poverty and humanitarian response tools available. It enables families and children to access their rights for basic needs, while enabling Save the Children’s global breakthroughs – Survive, Be Protected, and Learn. The delivery of CVA reduces consumption gaps for children and their families, strengthening local markets, and reducing the economic barriers which reduce food security, increase malnutrition, limit utilization of health systems, exacerbate child protection risk, and prevent children from attending school. To ensure that CVA is reaching those most in need, achieving its outcomes, and is available in a safe, accessible, accountable, and participatory manner, it requires the entire Save the Children community and local partners to collaborate, coordinate, and communicate. One enabler in that process is standardized tools that are available and accessible to all our staff. The MPCA toolkit is meant to form as the basis for the Save the Children movement to understand whether we are doing CVA right. Quality data will permit us to understand whether it is reaching the right people, helping them access their basic needs, and are satisfied with how we are providing that service. It is one of many tools that will support us in our journey to being a global leader in delivery of CVA for Child Outcomes.
